Thanks to an idea from Jerry3672 on Cloudy Nights, I tried combining multiple images. The monochrome DMK21 image has been mixed with the colour SPC900NC to create a single image, hopefully with the colour information of the SPC and the higher resolution detail of the DMK.

First moon mosaic

This is my first go at creating a mosaic from images captured with the DMK21. This is 27 images stitched in iMerge. I learnt a lot of valuable lessons for my next effort!

C90 first light

It is extremely windy this evening but only scattered cloud so I ventured out with my new C90 and an 8-24 zoom to take a look at Jupiter. Low in the sky, there was a lot of turbulence in the air and I could only get a sharp focus at around 100x mag.

The four jovian sattelites were very sharp and bright, and I could clearly see the brownish banding on the surface of the planet. This is the best I have ever seen Jupiter. This image was taken a few years ago when I had a Meade ETX125 and LPI imager, and is very similar to the visual view in the C90 tonight. I never saw Jupiter this clearly visualy in the ETX.

Celestron C90!

Today I got myself a Celestron C90 scope which I have mounted onto my Acuter Merlin electronic mount.
